OUR BAKER
Hi I am Amy, my hands are behind all the creative cakes showcased here. I am a self taught home baker and decorator.
Everytime I get a question, how did you come into baking, I just look around and say, it just happened, was an accidental entry. But day by day, I get to understand that, children carry whole lot of inborn talents passed down from generation to generation. I came to know that my grandmother & great grandmothers were all fond of baking and cooking. They baked using methods which are unknown to this generation of mine. We just wow at how could they? Bcoz we are used to this modern tools and we have a feeling these are all modern day foods. Nah, not at all. And the reason why I love what I do is I owe it to my mom. Her cakes are so divine and smells heavenly. Never ever baked or learned how to bake from her, just watched her & devoured what she made. I am grateful for having her as my mom, thanking God for her.
So my baking journey started with my daughter’s 3rd birthday cake in 2013. But got into track only by 2016 and now a full time cake decorator. I had no idea of being a cake decorator even in my wildest – sweetest dreams

Proudly crafted this Russian Nesting doll cake for the future guiness record holder of greatest collection of Russian Nesting dolls. Paris, an amazing boy who never fails to appreciate me for what I am doing. His mom is another great person who I must thank from the bottom of my heart for being with me in my cake journey till date. Every year Paris has a different theme, mainly based on his likes or his interests.
The inspiration photo of a Russian Nesting doll cake was sent to me from @cakegirls
Changes are made to the floral design so that it has a touch of me. The colour theme remains the same as my client wanted the same. The cake is covered in buttercream frosting, red fondant is used on the top part and base florals are made out of fondant. The cake is fully edible. Enjoy!!!!

Showers of blessings and God's abundant grace to Leon and Jerome on their First Holy Communion. I have done a free hand painting where the strokes of blue and gold colours represents showers of blessings & the coming down of Holy Spirt on them. Happy to have crafted this Mclaren themed 21st Birthday Cake. Had this order request 4 months in advance. The colour theme is a replica of the original design( not mine). Monster Jam themed cake. It was real fun making this cake especially crafting the muddy mountain with buttercream as mountain base and smashed cake as muddy mountain. Those who saw my story might be aware. The trucks are all cleaned and made food safe to go on for a cake mountain ride🛻. Except the toy trucks, everything on the cake is edible.
A Short story : On the 2nd day after the order was placed, my client said the baby no more wants this theme, he had changed his mind to Super heroes😄😄, Kids are kids, every minute every second they keep changing their likes. But I had no choice to change it as I had already ordered the toppers online. So she agreed to go with it. It was also ordered by a grandmother for her grandson and a known fact they do have extra love for their grandchildren, sure ended up buying some superheroes( ofcourse she paid me, she is a loving soul) for her to put on the cake board along with this theme, incase he changed his mind to monster jam at the last min😄.

When Meera asked me to do a cake, I could feel the trust she has in me in every word she spoke. This is not the first time I am crafting for her. She was so damn sure I would deliver my best or the bestest. A customers trust ( she is not a customer,but a dear family friend) is the greatest confident booster any creators can ask for. But to keep that trust, a great lot of dedication, time and commitment and above all the passion to do what we do with a full heart is a must. I have done gold themed cakes but still was a bit shaky and disturbed as to how to achieve this perfection. My saviour was the ediblert decorative gold paint from Sweet Sticks. Didn't have to worry as to how I am going to achieve this coverage. Made my day less stressful. 😍🙏

He was disappointed to hear that Amy Aunty wouldn't be able to bake for him this time (it was a prank), but he didn't even bother to ask if he was getting a cake for his birthday 🤣. Even at 14, he still asks, "Amma, can you please learn to bake from Amy Aunty? She makes the best cake!" 🤤😍

The cupcakes are made matching to the communion cake. My client was inspired by the design concept by @cookie.lands (check insta for her works), it's amazing.
The florals are made food safe by covering the stems with food safe floral tapes. It was a time consuming process to separate each floral from a bunch of florals, tie it together, but I am and my client were super happy with the outcome.

It's Holy Communion and Baptism cake. I am so in love with the cake , and happy that I could do gesture to the design. It's an elegant design style mostly used on wedding cakes and special occasions & something I always wanted to try out especially with florals adorning the cake. I have used fake florals. The top tier is vanilla cake whereas the base tier is dummy, did anyone guess it?? So those who want to have big cakes but limited serves or a cake to showcase for the whole event & not share with the guest, but family, opt for dummy tiers. It's as elegant and beautiful as real cakes. It was well received and appreciated, exactly how my client wanted.
